Okay so it’s not exactly a New York Times or Amazon Bestseller list, but for a first book by a previously unpublished and thus unknown writer, I’ll take what I can get. And it gives me an excuse to talk up the series it spawned. Originally pieced together from a series of short stories, The Endangered came about in a rather unorthodox fashion. And despite having an epilogue, it was meant to be a standalone. I never thought it would be published, let alone have enough demand to justify turning it into a series.
Having been out for almost a year, it’s great to see it doing so well. So I owe a deep debt of gratitude to the supportive team at Zharmae Publishing and to readers for embracing the book! (Or, which is entirely possible, my friends and family for buying a ton of copies to skew the sales rankings haha).
Look for Book 2 in The Endangered Trilogy, entitled Dead & Damaged, in a few *short* months! In the meantime, you can read a preview here.
I also encourage you to explore the other fantastic titles Zharmae Publishing has to offer. They publish a wide range of genre fiction, from romance to scifi and specialize in a lot of “niche” genres that you won’t find at a lot of traditional publishing houses.
And now back to working on Book 3… Thanks again!
2015 has been very good to The Endangered thus far!

“The story itself is excellent. It’s not your typical Vampires vs Werewolves story. Instead it reads more like a female Jason Bourne vampire thriller in which the bad guys just happen to be werewolves…light years away from what I was expecting when I started reading…S. L. Eaves delivers a wonderfully thrilling tale of intrigue between vampires and werewolves that is well worth your time.” – Richard Foland

“This is a taut, pacey and gritty gothic tale with plenty of car chases, fights and dark turning points to keep any fan of the genre interested…Overall this is a fun dark fantasy and an enjoyable action adventure.” – J.A. Ironside

Drexel University recently published this timely, Halloween-themed article where I discuss the challenges of tackling an MBA while trying to get published. If you are an aspiring writer hopefully you’ll find some useful tidbits of advice on the industry, or at the very least take away some new horror movie recommendations:
“With Halloween approaching, we decided that someone who took on the terrifying challenge of earning her MBA while penning a debut novel might have some interesting things to say about creativity, marketing and horror movies. Philadelphia area native Stephanie Eaves ’14 wrote “The Endangered” while enrolled here at LeBow. In January, she signed with Zharmae Publishing, and her book is now available for purchase…”
